Roy "Doc" Halladay Cures the Phillies recent pitching ails

Philadelphia-Yesterday, Roy Halladay came out to start against the San Diego Padres, his first start since his worst outing last time he pitched against the Milwaukee Brewers. In that game, Halladay gave up 6 runs in 6 2/3 innings. This time, Halladay redeemed himself, as he fanned 14 batters in 8 2/3 innings, and didn't allow a runner past second base until the ninth inning. At one point in the game, Halladay had struck out 6 batters in a row, one behind the major league record held by Curt Shilling. The Phillies main offensive power came from Shane Victorino, who hit an inside the park home run that skimmed off the glove of Will Venable in right field. The Phillies won the game 3-1.
